This bill proposes the Global Competency Development Pilot Program, which allocates $3 million from Minnesota's general fund in fiscal year 2026 to the commissioner of employment and economic development. The funds will be used to provide grants to nonprofit organizations to train students across multiple sites statewide in global competency skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, adaptability, and evidence-based decision-making.

Grant recipients must provide at least a 25% nonstate match to their awarded funds. The allocated money can be used for teacher training, curriculum development, and school support. The appropriation is available until June 30, 2028.
