This bill (S.F. No. 1838) proposes a one-time appropriation of $600,000 from Minnesota's general fund for fiscal year 2026. The funds will be allocated to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to Accessible Space Inc., a nonprofit organization. The grant will be used for capital improvements and upgrades to low-income accessible housing units located at 1680 Eastwood Road SE and 3461 Kenosha Drive NW in Rochester, Minnesota. The appropriation remains available until the project is completed or abandoned, in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 16A.642.
