This bill proposes an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution to explicitly state that marriage is a fundamental right and cannot be restricted based on gender or race. If passed by the legislature, this amendment will be submitted to voters for approval in the 2026 general election. If ratified, the amendment would take effect on January 1, 2027.
