This bill proposes an amendment to the Minnesota Paid Leave Law by exempting certain agricultural workers from coverage. Specifically, it modifies definitions under Minnesota Statutes 2024, Section 268B.01, to exclude from "covered employment" individuals employed by a farmer, family farm, or family farm corporation if:

1. The farm employs five or fewer employees, or
   
2. The employee works for 28 days or fewer per year.
   

The bill also clarifies that these agricultural workers are not considered "employees" or their employers as "employers" under the Paid Leave Law. However, exempted entities have the option to opt in for coverage if they follow a procedure set by the commissioner.
