This bill proposes funding for the Minnesota Board on Aging to support compliance, policy development, and operational needs. It appropriates $1,995,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $2,071,000 in fiscal year 2027 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Human Services. The funds will be used for:

1. Hiring one full-time equivalent (FTE) position to ensure compliance with federal regulations and assist with updates and technical assistance for the seven area agencies on aging and service providers.
   
2. Hiring one FTE position to support compliance and policy development for services under the federal Older Americans Act.
   
3. Hiring two FTE positions to address increased service demands and operational needs of the Senior LinkAge Line.
   
4. Hiring 18 additional staff for the area agencies on aging contact centers to support Senior LinkAge Line operations.
   

The appropriation will be added to the base budget.
