This bill amends Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 97B.646, to enhance the state's wolf management efforts. It mandates the following:

1. Wolf Management Plan – The commissioner, in consultation with the commissioner of agriculture, must adopt a wolf management plan that:

   • Ensures the long-term survival of wolves in Minnesota.
   • Reduces conflicts between wolves and humans.
   • Minimizes the depredation of livestock and domestic pets.
   • Manages the ecological impact of wolves on prey species and other predators.

2. Wolf Mortality Tracking – The commissioner must maintain and update quarterly a public list of known wolf deaths as reported by conservation officers. The list must include the date and location of each wolf death and be available on the department’s website.

3. Statewide Wolf Population Survey – The commissioner must conduct an annual statewide survey to estimate Minnesota's wolf population. This survey must cover the entire state rather than being limited to historical wolf ranges.
