This bill proposes that the state of Minnesota allocate a total of $10 million, spread over two fiscal years (2026 and 2027), to support nonprofit organizations in enhancing their security measures. Each year, $5 million will be provided for this purpose. These funds are specifically intended for nonprofits that have successfully been approved for federal security grants but require additional support. These organizations won't need to submit a separate application to receive the state funds; their federal application will suffice for both. Each qualifying nonprofit can receive up to $75,000, but the combined amount from both federal and state grants cannot exceed this limit. The funds will be distributed based on the priority established in the federal grant process.
