This bill proposes authorizing roadside signage for registered outdoor public access automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in Minnesota. It allows locations or businesses with registered AEDs to request local or state road authorities to install directional signs indicating the location of the device. The signs should be placed a specified distance before intersections or interchanges and must use symbols, text, or both to promote AED availability.

The road authority is required to place the signage within 60 days of receiving a request, but the requesting entity must cover all costs related to installation, maintenance, and removal. If an AED is removed or becomes non-operational, the entity must notify authorities for sign removal. Additionally, AEDs must be placed in recognizable, easily accessible locations with visible on-premises signage.

This bill is intended to improve public access to life-saving defibrillators in emergencies.
